This Qashqai  is a tribal rug, adorned with a central evil eye medallion, evil eye-mirrored field corners, and other motifs reflective of daily life (chickens, dogs). As with all tribal rugs, the motifs featured in this rug were likely knotted from memory by the weaver, likely passed down by generations and learned as a child. The rug's wool-on-wool construction lends a highly flexible, soft, and supple feel to the rug—it could be wrapped around its owner like a blanket. This rug has been treated with an antique wash, softening its tones to appeal to the palette of any modern-day home.
