This is a quality set of mid-century modern Japanese saltwater cultured akoya pearl and sterling silver tie bar & tac by Maruwa Pearl Co. 

They feature lustrous pearls with bright rosy overtones. They measure 4.50mm and are round. They are set on top of black mother of pearl that shows lovely rainbow overtones when it catches the light. 

They are stamped "SILVER" for sterling silver. Tie bar measures 1 1/2 inch. Tie tack measures 3/8 inch. They both have safety chains. Original box is made hard plastic and light cream silk and velvet. It is stamped "MARUWA PEARL CO" "CULTURED PEARLS" "MADE IN JAPAN".  From Japan, 1950's-1970's. 

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
